London Fashionweek SS19

Hi Guys! Here it is our first blog. About two weeks ago I was called to participate in the London Fashion Week. I was thrilled to be back again and work with all these wonderful people and see all these amazing designers.

So now two weeks later, I packed my bags and took the first flight to London. Once I arrived I met with my cousin where I could spend the weekend.

Later that afternoon I went to a model casting for the brand “Berthold”. It was a really nice experience to see how models were cast and to just sit back, relax and take a beverage as one of my favourite songs would say.
After the models were cast the designer took me aside to discuss the different makeup and hair looks for the runway for Sunday.

On day2 I had to work for a presentation of the Lou Dalton SS19 collection. For those of you who don’t know who Lou Dalton is, I will give you a head’s up.

Lou Dalton is one of the few female designers on the British menswear scene. Her ethos is simple: brilliantly made clothing for men with an emphasis on authentic, enduring design. Lou’s clothing is contemporary yet timeless, drawing upon the traditions of British craft and the narratives of her Shropshire roots in a way that is forward thinking and modern.
Lou is one of the most experienced and skilled designers working in men’s fashion today and has become a figurehead for homegrown talent at London Collections Men. Having produced capsule collections for Dover Street Market, Grenson, Liberty and Opening Ceremony, demand for Dalton’s line is growing every year with her clothes not only in the UK but also in continental Europe as well as in USA, Japan China, Taiwan and Korea.

When I arrived on location there already was a positive energy. Everybody was in the right mindset; cozy yet professional. I worked with other talented hair and makeup artists under the watching eye of Alexander Soltermann, who was head of the team.
All ten models were lined up ready to start hair and makeup. Today’s theme reminded me kind of a farm boy theme with all the haystacks.
I was responsible for last looks together with Brandon Borowski. So that the models would look their finest just before shooting. The models did an excellent job on making the presentation a real experience. All this would not have been possible without the help of the team and our sponsor “Mister Smith”.

Later this evening I went back to the studio of “Berthold” where I got a jacket! Thank you so much for this amazing gift.
Later that day we went to the perfume release of Matthew Miller.

So I would say that today was a good day. I met some amazing people and found some nice and new connections.

Stay tuned for new updates about the London Fashion Week seen through the eyes of a makeup artist/hairstylist and definitely stay tuned for updates about Paris Fashion Week!
